Nineveh Governor survives assassination

Nineveh (IraqiNews.com) The Governor of Nineveh Atheel al-Nijaifi survived an assassination attempt due to explosion of a bomb to the south of Mosul on Wednesday.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com “A bomb was emplaced on the side-road to the south of Mosul province, exploded targeting the motorcade of Nineveh Governor Atheel al-Nijaifi,” noting that “The explosion did not cause any injuries for Nijaifi, whose vehicle was damaged.”

“A security force rushed to the explosion site to start a raid search operation in the areas nearby,” the source concluded.
