Official attributes Maysan bombings to terrorism shelters

Maysan, Amara (IraqiNews.com) The security and defense committee of Maysan Provincial Council attributed the recent bombings which took place in Maysan province to the existence of shelters for terrorism in the province.

The Head of the Security Committee in Maysan province, Salim Youns, mentioned in his speech during the second annual conference for the security committee which was attended by the correspondent of IraqiNews.com that ”The blasts which took place in Ali Sharqi area last week represent a dangerous indicator to the defects in the security situation in the province,” pointing out that ”These bombings occurred due to the negligence of the security forces which are responsible for providing protection to the shrine of Ali Sharqi and the popular areas surrounding him.”

Youns attributed the blasts which took place in the province to the existence of shelters for terrorism in the province, noting that “This situation totally opposees the values of the tribes in the province.”

The conference was attended by members of the local government and several security leaders in addition to representatives of the religious authority and delegates of political blocs and parties as well as Civil Society Organizations and elders of the tribes in the province.

Two Car bombs exploded near the shrine of Ali al-Sharqi and near Naheya hospital which resulted in killing and wounding dozens of civilians.
