Oil Company worker killed in mine explosion in Maysan

Maysan, Amara (IraqiNews.com) A worker, who works for Burj al-Arab Company which is a subcontractor with the Sinoc Oil Company that work in Faka oil field of eastern Maysan, was killed on Friday.

The head of media office of Maysan Oil Company, Khalid Waham, stated to IraqiNews.com “A mine exploded killing the worker who died while being transferred to the hospital for treatment.”

“The worker entered a prohibited area ignoring the instructions which resulted in the explosion of the mine,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that the border areas like Tayib and Faka in Maysan are considered among the dangerous areas because they involve mines which is among the remains of the Iraqi-Iranian war.
