Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Foreign Relations Parliamentary Committee called upon the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to follow up the case of the murder of a young Iraqi for racist motivations in Greece.

MP Rafi Abd al-Jabbar, a member of the Committee, told Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) Monday that “The Committee will ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to follow up the murder of a young Iraqi man in Greece at the hands of unknown persons due to racist motivations and to address the official Greek authorities to investigate the incident and bring the killers for justice.”

He added that “The Foreign Ministry is serious in its work to follow up such cases for Iraqi nationals and Iraqi refugees all over the world.”

The Greek police announced last Saturday the death of a young Iraqi citizen in Athens due to an attack committed by five unidentified armed men by using knives.

The initial investigations indicated that “Racist motives practiced by some groups against the foreign nationals are behind the crime.”
