5 Persons killed, wounded in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The brother of an official within the national security department and a soldier was killed while three persons were wounded in various attacks on Wednesday.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com on Wednesday ”Unidentified gunmen opened fire targeting a vehicle that carries an official within the national security commission and his brother while he was driving over Mohamed al-Qasim highway in Baghdad.”

“The gunmen killed the brother of the official, who was driving the vehicle,” the source added, pointing out that “The gunmen managed to flee after the attack.”

The source continued saying that “Unidentified gunmen opened fire from silenced weapons targeting an element of the Iraqi Army, killing him in Bayaa area of southwestern Baghdad then the gunmen fled to unknown destination.”

“Three persons were wounded when an Improvised Explosive Device IED exploded in Abu Menasir area within Abu Gharib district (25 KM) to west of Baghdad,” the source concluded. END
