Peshmerga forces shoot down reconnaissance plane for ISIS west of Nineveh

(IraqiNews.com) Nineveh – A source within the paramilitary Peshmerga force said on Sunday, that the Peshmerga elements had managed to shoot down a reconnaissance plane belonging to the ISIS west of the province.
The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, Peshmerga forces managed to shoot down a reconnaissance plane belonging to the ISIS in the axis of Kazak (35 km west of Nineveh),” noting that, “The anti-aircraft [weaponry] belonging to the Peshmerga forces spotted the plane in the skies of the region and succeeded in targeting and shooting it down.”
The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The plane that was shot down was monitoring the military forces in the region.
