2 Police elements, 3 civilians killed, injured in Mosul

Nineveh, Mosul (IraqiNews.com) A policeman was killed while three others were injured in two separate incidents in Mosul city on Sunday.

A police source stated to IraqiNews.com that ”An Improvised Explosive Device IED exploded, in Baath neighborhood of eastern Mosul city, targeting a patrol for the Anti-Terrorism Department,” noting that “The explosion resulted in killing a police Captain and injuring a policeman within the patrol.”

The source added “Unidentified gunmen threw a hand grenade targeting a police patrol in cornish Street,” noting that “The explosion of the hand grenade resulted in injuring two civilians who were accidentally near to the explosion area.”

The source pointed out that ”The police transported the injured people to the hospital for treatment.”
