 Remains of Speicher victims to be moved to Baghdad for DNA tests, says Council of Ministers Secretariat

(IraqiNews.com) Representative of the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers Zayd al-Asadi announced Sunday, that competent teams will lift the remains of Speicher victims in the village of Albu-Ajil and move them to the Forensic Medicine Authority in Baghdad, and that DNA samples will be taken to identify the bodies.

Asadi said in an interview with IraqiNews.com, “The secretariat has formed an operations room which included representatives from the Ministry of Health and Human Rights, and we visited Albu Ajil area in Salahuddin. The two mass graves there have been verified,” noting that, “Relevant teams will lift the remains of Speicher martyrs and transfer them to Baghdad. ”

Asadi added, “We will build a special grave for them in Wad al-Salam in Najaf to be a symbol of sacrifice for the sake of their homeland.”
