 Russia sent military experts to Baghdad, says Russian official

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Russian official confirmed on Wednesday, that his country had sent military experts to a coordination center in the Iraqi capital Baghdad.

“Reuters” quoted the official as saying, “Russia sent military experts to a coordination center, newly established in Baghdad, to coordinate the work of the air strikes and ground forces in Syria.”

According to “Reuters,” the official didn’t mention the number of those experts.

The Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu confirmed earlier on Wednesday that the Iraqi capital Baghdad will be the focal point for Russian operations in Syria.

A military source in Moscow revealed on Saturday (26 September 2015), that there is an agreement between Russia, Syria, Iraq and Iran to create an information center in Baghdad, comprising representatives of the bodies of Staff of the armies of the four countries.
