Sahwa militant killed in armed attack north of Baghdad

Baghdad ( A police source revealed that a member of Sahwa militia (Sunni Awakening Movement) was killed, while another one was wounded in an armed attack, north of Baghdad, Alsumaria News reported on Wednesday.

The source said, “Today, unidentified gunmen fired indiscriminately on a checkpoint belonging to Sahwa militia in al-Raoud area, north of Baghdad, killing one members and wounding another.”

“Security forces arrived in the area of incident, while ambulances evacuated the wounded to a nearby hospital and the body to the forensic medicine department,” the source added on condition of anonymity.

In a related context, anonymous gunmen launched an armed attack on al- Za’franiya area, south of the capital, Baghdad, killing a civilian.
