SECURITY: Result of Kazimiya explosions rise to 15 killed – 31 injured

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The result of casualties of 2 explosions that took place in northwest Baghdad’s Kazimiya district has rised to 15 killed and 31 injured, a security source reported on Thursday. “The result 2 booby-trapped cars explosions in northwest Baghdad’s Kazimiya district on Thursday has reached 15 people killed and 31 others injured,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency. A security source had told IraqiNews.com early in the day that 2 explosions took place by 2 booby-trapped car blasts early in the day in al-Urouba and al-Zahraa districts of Kazimiya area, causing several casualties. Several Baghdad areas had witnessed at the last week of last year, 2011, a number of booby-trapped car explosions and suicide attacks, including a series of blasts on Thursday, 22/12/2011, killing about 70 people and wounding 175 others, followed by a series of explosions that left 5 killed and 25 injured, most of them civilians. The said explosions took place at a time when the country was witnessing a huge political crisis, following charges against Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimy, the leading member in al-Iraqiya Alliance, led by former Prime Minister, Iyad Allawi, with having been involved in “terrorist” acts and a decision by Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, against his Deputy Prime Minister, Saleh al-Mutlaq, the leader in al-Iraqiya Alliance to withdraw trust from Mutlaq.
