Seven persons killed, 18 injured in Basra blast

BASRA / IraqiNews.com – At least 7 people have been killed and 18 others were injured in an improvised explosive device (IED), that blew up close to Basra’s Maaqal Railway station on Sunday, a medical source said.    “The toll from the IED blast has reached 7 people killed and 18 injured,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency.    Basra security official, Ali Ghanim, told IraqiNews.com early in the day that an IED blew off close to Basra’s Maaqal Railway Station, killing 6 persons and wounding 12 others. Basra, the center of southern Iraq’s province carrying the same name, is 590 kms to the south of Baghdad.   SKH (TP)/SR 836
