Suicide bomber blows himself up in Sulaimaniya, security forces kill 5 armed men:

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: At least five armed men have been killed in clashes with security forces south of northern Iraq’s Sulaimaniya city, including an armed man who blew himself up on Sunday, according to a security source in the city. “The security forces in Sulaimaniya had ordered five armed men, who sneaked into a city market on Sunday, to surrender themselves, but they refused and opened fire on the security forces, whilst one of them blew himself up, whilst the others were shot dead during the exchange of fire with security forces,” the source told IraqiNews.com news agency. A Sulaimaniya security source said earlier in the day that a sound bomb blew off amid demonstators, who gathered on Saturday, followed by opening fire on the demonstrators, wounding two of them, who were driven to a nearby hospital. Noteworthy is that thousands of demonstrators went to the streets in Sulaimaniya last Thursday, demanding the improvement of serice and living conditions, fighting corruption and carrying out political reforms, during which one person was killed and more than 50 others were wounded by exchange of fire in front of the headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, where the demonstrators gathered. At least three headquarters of the Kurdish Goran (Change) Movement were also broken through and burnt in Arbil, Dohuk and Soran citizens, but caused no casualties. Meanwhile, north Iraq’s Kurdistan Region’s President, Massoud Barzani, called its government to form an investigation committee in the aftermath of the said events, pointing out that “enemies of Kurdistan people were continuing the creation of a state of anarchy in the Region.” ST / SKH
