Syrian suspect arrested on border

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Border forces arrested a suspected Syrian citizen at the Iraqi-Syrian border, western Mosul, Ninewa Operations Command’s official spokesperson said on Wednesday. “A force from the border 6th brigade today arrested a Syrian suspect in Rabeaa district, western Mosul, at the Iraqi-Syrian border,” Brigadier Khalid Abdulsattar told IraqiNews.com. “Majid Ismail Fayiadh was carrying no passport, only an ID issued by the Syrian Ministry of Interior, but had no guns on him,” he said. “Interrogation is under way with him to learn how he entered Iraq illegally,” he added. Iraq-Syrian border at Ninewa province is considered the best place for gunmen to enter Iraq. Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 1
