Terrorist group netted in Kirkuk

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A force of the Kurdistan Patriotic Union arrested a terrorist group that belongs to the Ansar al-Sunna Terrorist Organization.

Security source explained on the website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) that “Kirkuk Governor, the Head of the Security Committee Najm al-Dean Karim, has supervised a security operation which resulted in arresting a terrorist group within Ansar al-Sunna Terrorist Organization in Domeez area of Kirkuk city,” noting that “The security operation was based on intelligence information.”

The source pointed out that “The security operation has been accomplished according to the cooperation between the forces of the Kurdistan Patriotic Union and Kirkuk police as well as the Iraqi Army 12th Division.”

The source added that “The terrorist group consists of five persons, among them the Administrator Official of Ansar al-Sunna Organization for Kirkuk, Diyala, Nineveh and Salah-il-Din provinces in addition to the Military Official of the organization.”

According to the initial in formation, the terrorist group came to Kirkuk province to implement terrorist operations. \
