Terrorist sentenced to 15 years behind bars in Sulaimaniya

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: The Sulaimaniya Criminal Court on Wednesday handed a 15-year jail sentence to a detainee accused of terrorism, the Sulaimaniya security department said. “Security forces had arrested on December 3, 2009 three people in Khormal district in Halabja, southeast of Sulaimaniya, accused of terrorist acts,” the department said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com news agency. “The court sentenced one of them to 15 years behind bars,” it added, noting that the court released the other two detainees after investigations showed that they were not involved in terrorist operations,” it noted.
