Tunisian AQI member arrested near Samarra

SALAH AL-DIN / IraqiNews.com: A Tunisian member of the al-Qaeda-in-Iraq (AQI) network on Tuesday was arrested near Samarra city, according to a local source. “The man, named Ali Bin Ahmed al-Fadili and born in 1952, was arrested in Jizeerat Umm Arnab area, 35 km west of Samarra in light of intelligence tips,” a source from the city’s support council, Majeed Mahmoud, told IraqiNews.com news agency. Investigations revealed that Fadili had been moving across Anbar province between 2006 and 2009, the official noted. Samarra, Salah al-Din province, lies 120 km north of Baghdad; while Tikrit, the capital of the province, is 175 km north of Baghdad. SS (P) 1
