Turkish forces renew attacks on Iraqi Kurdistan’s villages, PKK reports

SULAIMANIYA / IraqiNews.com: The Turkish Army has resumed shelling north Iraq’s Kurdistan villages in Qandil Mountains on Sunday, the Military Media official of the anti-Ankara Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) reported.   “The Turkish Army began the shelling of the villages at Qandil Mountains, close to Qala Diza township in Sulaimaniya Province at 10:00 local time on Sunday, destroying properties and burning orchards, causing no human losses,” Dizdar Hammo told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said the Turkish shelling “did not cause any casualties among the PKK elements, but caused material losses to the properties of Kurdish citizens in the area.”   “PKK forces are on full alert to face any movement by the Turkish and Iranian forces against (Iraqi) Kurdistan territories,” Hammo concluded.   SKH (TS)/SR 514
