Turkish warplanes renew bombarding Iraqi Kurdish villages

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The administration of Sidican district on the Iraqi – Turkish borders mentioned on Tuesday that “Turkish warplanes renewed bombardment of border areas in the province of Erbil,” confirming that “The target was populated areas without identifying casualties that resulted from this wave of bombardment.”

Mayor of the District, Mohamed Ismail, said that “Turkish warplanes bombed on Tuesday evening areas of Juakirk, Kurti and Harmoush on the borders in Sidikan,” noting that “The bombing targeted areas inhabited by farmers and shepherds which caused panic among the population of the region.”

Ismail added that “The attack lasted for about an hour,” stressing that “Yet, the casualties caused by this attack are unknown.”

The Iraqi border areas with Turkey witness since 2007, artillery attacks and raids of Turkish warplanes on the pretext of striking elements of the PKK.
