Turkish warplanes shells border areas of Kurdistan Region

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Turkish warplanes shelled Sedcan border area in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.

The website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan quoted security source as saying that ”The Turkish warplanes violated the airspace of Kurdistan Region and bombed (Keustani Khanera) area within Sedcan district in Erbil province.”

The website pointed out that ”The Turkish bombing did not result in any human casualties but caused material damages in the area and created panic among the citizens who were afraid of being shelled at any moment.”

The Turkish warplanes and artillery are shelling the border areas of Kurdistan Region since 2003 under the pretext of chasing the elements of PKK who oppose the Turkish regime. \
