Two Iraqi soldiers killed in attack on checkpoint in Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: Two Iraqi soldiers have been killed in an attack by silencer pistols launched by unknown armed men on a checkpoint east of Mosul, the center of Ninewa Province, according to a Nineveh security source on Sunday. “Two soldiers have been killed late Saturday night, in an attack by unknown gunmen on an Iraqi Army’s checkpoint at al-Karama district, east of Mosul,” he said, adding that “the armed men, who were on foot, attacked the checkpoint with silencer-pistols, before they escaped, whilst the security forces imposed a security cordon on the area, searching for the attackers.” Mosul, the center of north Iraq’s Ninewa Province, is 405 km to the north of Baghdad.
