Two mortar shells fall, two IEDs explode in Diyala

Diyala (IraqiNews.com) An official in Diyala Province revealed, on Sunday, that two mortar shells fell, while two improvised explosive devices exploded in a village, northeast of Baqubah.

Head of al-Abbara area Adnan Mulla Jawad said in a press statement that two mortar shells fell in the vicinity of Zaghiniyah al-Shaghira village (5 km north of al-Abbara area), without causing any casualties.

Also, two improvised explosive devices exploded in the same village, resulting in the loss of a herd of cattle near the area of the explosion, Jawad added.

Jawad also revealed that security forces opened an investigation into the two incidents.
Noteworthy, the area of al-Abbara witnessed several security violations, including mortar shelling, in the last period.
