(IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, Defense Minister Khaled al-Obeidi announced that the American aircrafts will be in service in Iraq during the coming months, pointing out to the need to provide proper bases for those aircrafts.

Obeidi said in his speech while attending a display of modern weapons attended by IraqiNews.com, “The American aircrafts will be in service in Iraq to fight the ISIS organization during the coming months.”

Obeidi stressed the need to “provide proper bases for these aircrafts in order to proceed with the service.”

Noteworthy, Baghdad has requested 36 fighter aircraft produced by Lockheed Martin, but the first shipments expected to be sent to Balad Air Base in Iraq were delayed due to security concerns, after ISIS controlled large areas in the north and west of the country.
