U.S. official denies joint forces in al-Huwaiyja

KIRKUK / IraqiNews.com: A U.S. official responsible for troops in al-Huwaiyja in Kirkuk said on Wednesday that there is no joint forces of army, Peshmerga and American personnel in the district, describing the security situation as good. “Iraqi forces; police and army, are working in a very good way and the security condition in al-Huwaiyja is good thanks to the Iraqi forces’ efforts and this helps in attracting investors to implement investment projects in it,” Captain Katlic told IraqiNews.com news agency. “Regarding the coming elections, the U.S. troops have a simple role which is providing assistance and help in emergency, while the main role will be played by police and army,” he explained.
