U.S. patrol attacked in Basra, no losses reported.

SECURITY /  Reply |Dr. Subhy to leprechaun1188 show details 11:12 PM (10 hours ago)   BASRA / IraqiNews.com – A U.S. Army patrol had been attacked by an improvised explosive device (IED) in southern Iraq’s city of Basra, causing no human or material losses, a Basra security source said on Tuesday.   “An IED blew up against a U.S. Army patrol on the Hamdan Road, 10 kms south of Basra on Tuesday, but caused no human or material damage,” the security source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   IraqiNews.com, on its part, tried to get any comment on the attack from the American side, but did not get any response.   In another incident, the same source said that Basra police had carried out an assault and inspection campaign in different parts of the city, detaining 8 wanted persons.   Basra, the center of the province carrying the same name, is 590 kms to the south of the Iraqi capital of Baghdad.   ST / SKH 561
