Urgent: soldier killed, 16 injured in ISIS attack on Tharthar

Salahuddin (IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that an element of the Iraqi security forces has been killed and 16 others were injured in an ISIS attack on Tharthar.

The source informed IraqiNews, “This afternoon, the ISIS group militants attacked the security forces along with soldiers of the Iraqi Volunteer Forces (also known as al-Hashid al-Sha’bi) in the area of al-Tharthar, located in southern Tikrit.”

“The attack resulted in killing an element of the Iraqi Volunteer Forces and injuring 16 others.”

“The security forces responded to the attack and inflicted a number of casualties upon ranks of the group,” he added.
