Violent clashes between security forces and gunmen south of Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) On Friday, a source within the Iraqi police announced, that violent clashes broke out between security forces and gunmen who tried to break into the Arab Jabour police station south of the capital Baghdad.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “Unidentified gunmen attacked this evening the Arab Jabour police station south of Baghdad, in an attempt to break into it, which led to the outbreak of violent clashes between elements of the center and the insurgents.”

The source, who requested anonymity added, “The force of the 17 squad in the army intervened in the clashes which are still ongoing.
