Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi Ministry of Health announced on Thursday it will support Basra stadiums with three mobile hospitals in preparation for the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup, which will start on January 6, 2023, the Iraqi News Agency (INA) reported.

General Director of the Operations and Emergency Medical Services Department in the Iraqi Ministry of Health, Fadel Al-Rubaie, told INA that the ministry will support Basra Health Department with three mobile hospitals and 140 trained personnel.

“The mobile hospitals will be available in the Al-Menaa Olympic Stadium and Basra International Stadium to provide aid service quickly,” Al-Rubaie explained.  

Al-Rubaie also elaborated that Basra Health Department will receive 20 ambulances to be distributed around the stadiums and where the sports teams reside to provide urgent health services in case of an emergency.

Al-Rubaie mentioned that Basra Health Department has well trained personnel as well as the ability to provide health services throughout the period where the tournament is taking place.

The Iraqi official added that the Ministry of Health is keen to provide the necessary support for the success of this important event.
