Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) announced on Monday that Iraq’s oil exports to the United States surpassed five million barrels during January.

According to the EIA, Iraq’s crude oil exports to the United States in January were 5.38 million barrels, with an average daily shipment of 173,000 barrels. This figure is less than Iraq’s oil exports to the US in December 2023, when they reached 5.61 million barrels, with an average daily export of 193,000 barrels.

Iraq exported crude oil to the United States during the first week of January at an average of 192,000 barrels per day. In the second week, Iraq’s average oil export to the US dropped to 64,000 barrels per day, and in the third and fourth weeks, the average reached 206,000 and 205,000 barrels per day, respectively.

Iraq was the fifth-largest oil supplier to the United States during the past month, following Canada, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Brazil, and the second-largest Arab exporter of oil to the United States after Saudi Arabia, which exported nine million barrels.

Canada was the largest oil supplier to the United States, followed by Mexico.
