 Iraq’s Prime Minister will visit Putin in Russia next week

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Russian President Vladimir Putin will receive the Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani for a meeting lasting two days in Moscow on October 10 and 11, according to Reuters.

According to the international news agency, Al-Sudani will leave Iraq on October 9, have a meeting with Putin on October 10, and attend business talks on October 11.

On September 21 of this year, the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Fuad Hussein, said that Al-Sudani, intended to travel to Russia before the year ended.

Recently, Iraq and Russia have been developing their ties more and more. Haider Hanoun, the Head of the Federal Commission of Integrity (COI), announced earlier this week that a deal had been reached with Russia to fight corruption and recoup money that had been illegally transferred overseas.

Al-Sudani also hosted Igor Levitin, the assistant to the Russian President Putin, and a delegation on October 3 in Baghdad, Iraq. During their meeting, they talked about the two nations’ bilateral relations. The Iraqi Prime Minister’s planned trip to Moscow was also discussed, as were initiatives to further bilateral collaboration in several areas.
