 UAE President invites Iraqi President to attend COP28

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Iraqi President, Abdul Latif Rashid, received on Sunday an official invitation from the President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to participate in the 2023 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28), which is held in conjunction with the celebrations of the UAE’s 52nd National Day, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi Presidency.

The invitation was handed to the Iraqi President by the UAE Ambassador to Iraq, Salem Al-Zaabi, where he conveyed greetings from the UAE President to the Iraqi President.

Rashid thanked the UAE Ambassador for the invitation of the UAE President to attend COP28, wishing the UAE people prosperity and progress, the statement mentioned.

The Iraqi President confirmed that relations between Iraq and the UAE are strong, stressing the need to promote these relations in a way that serves the interests of both countries and enhances security and stability in the region.

Al-Zaabi expressed appreciation for the warm reception, indicating that the UAE supports Iraq’s security, stability, and the well-being of the Iraqi people.

The UAE Ambassador expressed appreciation for the role of the Iraqis in contributing to the progress of the United Arab Emirates.
