Southern Iraq’s Oil Team wins Iraq’s Basketball Youth Championship

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Southern Iraq’s Oil Team has won the Iraq’s Basketball Youth Championship that took place in Muthanna Province on Tuesday, after defeating north Iraq Ninewa’s Workers Team – 60-59, the Iraqi Basketball Union’s Media spokesman reported. “The three games ended for the interest of Southern Iraq’s Oil Team – 11-11, 25-24 and 38-36, whilst the 4th and last game ended by 7 points for the Nineva Workers Team at the last minute, but it did not succeed in keeping its score after committing several mistakes, that were invested successfully by the Southern Oil Team, to settle the game by 60-59 points,” Ihsan Marsoumy told IraqiNews.com news agency. He said that Muthanna Governor, Ibrahim Salman al-Mayaly and other Province’s officials have distributed the prizes on the winning teams and players, along with some of the Sport and media personalities that attended the games. Noteworthy is that 5 teams have participated in the basketball youth championship’s finals, including the Southern Oil, Ninewa Workers, Samwa, Hilla and Dujeil Teams that attended the games in Samawa city over the past 5 days.
