URGENT: Golden Prize, 6 silver, 6 copper, Iraq’s 1st day result in West Asian Taekwondo Championship

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s Youth Team has achieved a golden prize, 6 silver and 3 copper, in the first day of the Men & Women West-Asian Taekwondo Championship that took place in the city of Arbil , the capital of north Iraq ’s Kurdistan Region on Friday, a press source covering the Championship reported on Saturday.   “The Youth Championship has witnessed the Iraqi Player, Salah Mahdi, who scored the first golden prize for Iraq for 51-kg weight, by beating the Iranian Player, Arash Nasser – 9-5 -, whilst 3 other Players scored 3 silver prizes, the Players Ahmed Khalaf – 45- kg, lost against the Iranian Player, Abu-Fazl Buria Musrtapha, Hussein Saadoun against the Jordanian Ahmed Abu-Ghosh, whilst our Player Hussein Burhan got the copper prize,” he said.   As for the Young Females, our Team had lost in the majority of games against Iranian Players, whilst the Iranian Team scored the 1 st Position in the first day, after scoring 5 golden prizes, 3 sliver and one copper, whilst the Jordanian Team scored the second position – 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 copper, and our Team had won the 3 rd position – 1 gold and 6 silver and 3 copper, whilst the Lebanese Team came 4 th , winning 1 gold and 4 silver, and the Palestinian Team came last with one copper prize only.   SKH (IT)
