Al-Nahrain Uni. awaits budget passage

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: President of al-Nahrain University on Thursday said several scientific projects are on hold due to the delay in passing the 2009 budget. “Speeding up the passage of the 2009 budget will help implement scientific projects that are still on paper and waiting for financial allocations,” Adnan al-Janabi said in a statement to IraqiNews.com news agency. Al-Nahrain University is located in Baghdad and is considered by some to be one of the best in Iraq. It was established in 1987 and was named Saddam University, and after the fall of Saddam Hussein, its name changed to its current form. “Al-Nahrain” translates to The Two Rivers of Iraq. SS (P)/SR 1
