Algerian company proposes building power stations

THI QAR / IraqiNews.com:  Thi Qar‘s Investment Commission announced today that an Algerian company proposed an investment project to build five electrical stations, each with a capacity of 30 megawatts, as well as a generator factory.  Head of the Commission Lu’ai al-Khairala told IraqiNews.com that M’aimer Energy proposed different investment proposals to build three power generation stations and should be responsible for contracts and collection of fees, as well as other stations for the private sector generation units with the capacity of 20 megawatts.  He added that there is a plan to build a generator factory in the province.  An investment delegation from Thi Qar visited Algeria in July 2011 to attract companies there to the opportunities in Iraq.  Nassiriya, the center of Thi Qar, lies 380 km south of the capital, Baghdad.  RM (TI)/SR 701
