Ancient bridge discovered near Mosul

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A local company working in stream channels near Mosul city has discovered an ancient bridge that dates back to 330 BC. “The bridge dates back to the era of Alexander the Great. Near the bridge, Alexander’s army defeated the Persian army under the command of King Darius III,” the head of the antiquities department in Mosul’s Aqra district, Omar Hussein Sharif, told IraqiNews.com news agency.
