Between 4-5 million pilgrims arrive in Karbala

KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Between four and five million Shiite visitors have so far arrived in Karbala for the Imam Hussein’s arbaeen, chairman of the Karbala province said on Monday. “They arrived in the city from the city’s three gates; Najaf in the south, Babel in the east and Baghdad in the north,” Mohammad Hamied al-Moussawi told IraqiNews.com news agency. “About 80 percent of them return, while the rest remain for several days or to remain until the arbaeen’s night (next Friday),” he explained.
