Flights to Beirut resume- Ministry

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The State Company for Iraqi Airways on Thursday said that daily flights to the Lebanese capital Beirut will be resumed following a stoppage that lasted over a week, a spokesperson for the Iraqi Ministry of Transport said. “An average of two flights will daily depart from the airports of Baghdad, Arbil and Najaf,” Jawad al-Kharsan told IraqiNews.com. Lebanese authorities had banned flights from or to the holy city of Najaf for a few days, Kharsan added, providing no further details. Iraqi Airways is the national carrier of Iraq, based in Baghdad and it is the oldest airline in the Middle East. It operates domestic and regional service.
