Iraqi Parliament to witness voting on security ministers posts

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Parliament is scheduled to discuss the issue of voting on the candidates for the security cabinet posts, presented to the Parliament by Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, Parliament Speaker, Usama al-Nunjeify said on Thursday. “The Prime Minister has presented the names of candidates for the security cabinet posts, whose CVs were distributed to the Parliament Members for discussion on Tuesday,” Nujeify told a joint news conference with his visiting Indonesian Counterpart, attended by IraqiNews.com news agency. Differences over the candidates for the security cabinet posts that remain vacant have taken place for about 4 months, especially the posts of Interior and Defense Ministers, the first being the share of the National Alliance, led by Prime Minister Maliki and the second by al-Iraqiya Bloc, led by former Prime Minister Iyad Allawi, with each side rejecting the candidate of the other.
