Bomb blast wounds 1 officer, 2 soldiers in southern Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) On Monday, a source within the police force said, that an army officer and three soldiers have been injured in a bomb explosion in southern Baghdad.

The source informed IraqiNews, “Today, a bomb that was emplaced on the roadside in al-Rashid area has went off targeting an army force during a dawn raid in the area,” noting that, “The explosion resulted in wounding an officer and three soldiers in the force.”

The source, who requested to remain anonymous, added, “A security force cordoned the area of the explosion and transferred the injured to a near hospital for medical treatment, while an investigation has been opened into the incident.”
