Large military force enters Samarra to back security elements

(IraqiNews.com) A security source in Salahuddin province announced Tuesday, that a large army force has entered Samarra to back the security elements in the district.

The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, “A large military force belonging to the 11th Brigade in the Iraqi Army has entered Samarra (40 km south of Tikrit) to help security forces.”

The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, added, “Security forces enforced tight security measures in Samarra and closed the district entrances and the roads leading to it.”

A security source in Salahuddin province announced Tuesday, that seven volunteer fighters have been killed and 27 others were injured in clashes west of Samarra.
