Urgent – Nineveh governor survives assassination attempt

Nineveh, Mosul (IraqiNews.com) The Governor of Nineveh province, Atheel a-Nijaifi, survived an assassination attempt with explosion of an Improvised Explosive Device to the west of Mosul.

Security source reported to IraqiNews.com ”The Governor of Nineveh province, Atheel al-Nijaifi, survived an assassination attempt when an Improvised Explosive Device exploded targeting the motorcade of the Governor in the 5th Bridge of the right side of western Mosul.”

“The explosion did not result in any human casualties, but material damages to the vehicles of the governor motorcade,” the source added.

This is the second assassination attempt that Nineveh Governor underwent within two months when he suffered an assassination attempt on 16/April when an IED exploded to the south of Mosul city. \END\
