 United Nations announces the death and injury of about 500 Iraqi children during 2015

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The United Nations announced on Thursday the killing and wounding of about 500 children as a result of the ongoing conflicts in Iraq during the current year.

The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jan Kubis and UNICEF representative in Iraq, Peter Hawkins said in a joint statement: “The continuing conflict in Iraq caused heavy losses in the lives of the most vulnerable citizens, represented by children.”

The statement added that “In one of the incidents that occurred on November 26, eight children were killed and six others were injured during a military operation in al-Halabsa village near the city of Fallujah.”
