(IraqiNews.com) Anbar – Directorate of Rutba district in Anbar Province announced on Wednesday that 500 families were evacuated from al-Waleed after it was liberated from ISIS control.
Rutba Mayor Emad al-Mashaal said,”Security forces evacuated 500 families from and around al-Waleed and transferred them to secure places, after the area was liberated from ISIS control.”
Mashaal added, “The families were evacuated from areas like- Albu Hayat, al-Asmi and al-Mizan. They will return only after their areas are secured and the IEDs and booby-trapped houses are completely dismantled.”
“Government committees went to al-Waleed for providing food and medical supplies to those who have been evacuated,” he concluded.
