Kirkuk’s Governor, Chairman discuss general situation in province

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Kirkuk Governor, Najm al-Din Karim, held a lengthy meeting with chairman of Kirkuk Provincial Council Muneer al-Qafili where they reviewed the security and political situations of Iraq in general and Kirkuk in particular.

A statement by the Governor’s officer quoted him as saying “We reject the constitutional violations in Iraq among them the formation of Dijla Operations Command and the appointment of security leaders without returning to the Parliament, besides associating forces of the Ministry of Interior to the Ministry of Defense.”

“On other hand, there are procedures that are taken against the foreign investment companies operating in Iraq and those operating in Kirkuk in particular among them the Turkish companies which are distinct in the reconstruction field,” it added.

“We call to adopt dialogue in tackling the problems and consolidate the fraternity and co-peaceful existence among the social components of Kirkuk,” the statement concluded.

It is worth mentioning that the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has formed a number of Operations Commands throughout the Iraqi provinces most recently Dijla Operations Command which aroused the reservations of the Kurds.
