Obama committed many mistakes in his campaign against ISIS, says former CIA director

(IraqiNews.com) The former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Leon Panetta said that US President Barack Obama had committed many mistakes in his campaign against the so called Islamic state in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

Panetta said in an interview with the CNN followed by IraqiNews, “There’s no question in my mind that some mistakes were made here…Presidents make mistakes, but they also learn from those mistakes,” warning the Congress, “If they wind up not being able to do a war authorization, it sends a terrible message to the world.”

Panetta warned that “U.S. needs to fully tackle ISIS in Syria to keep that country from becoming a safe haven for ISIS to plan attacks against the West.”
