Abdul Mahdi, Ahrar bloc delegation discuss political crisis in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The former Vice-President and the header within the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Adel Abdul Mahdi, discussed with a delegation of al-Ahrar bloc within the Sadr Trend, the political crisis in Iraq and the region.

A statement by al-Ahrar bloc received by IraqiNews.com cited “A delegation of al-Ahrar bloc headed by the Secretary General, Dhiya al-Asadi, and comprising the head of the bloc, Baha al-Araji, MPs, Amir al-Kinani, Jawad al-Shihili, Eqbal al-Ghurabi, Ali al-Timimi, Oudai Awad, Rafea Abdul Jabbar, Asma al-Mosawi, visited Abdul Mahdi and discussed the political crisis with him in addition to the affect of the regional events especially the Syrian one.”

“The two sides discussed the means of consolidating confidence among the constituents of the Iraqi National Alliance in one hand and the other partners such as the Iraqiya Slate and the Kurdistani Alliance on the other hand,” the statement added, noting that “All agree to hold responsibility and must be aware of it.”

“The meeting discussed some important law drafts in the parliament such as the Federal Court, the Supreme Judicial Council, Infrastructure, Elections and Oil and Gas law drafts,” the statement concluded.
