Accusations for CBI political, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Financial Committee in Parliament, MP Ahmed al-Misari, described the accusations of corruption against the Central Bank of Iraq as “Political accusations.”

MP Misari of the Iraqiya Slate stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “I do not believe any violations are taking place at the CBI,” stressing that “The accusations aroused against officials at the CBI of being involved in money laundering or financing terrorism are enlisted within the political pressures practiced by a certain bloc on the Bank.”

“These accusations and pressures against the Central bank of Iraq are similar to other pressures practiced against other Independent Bureaus,” he confirmed.

Several accusations have been aroused recently against officials at the CBI for being involved in money laundering, corruption and financing terrorism.
