Arab states involved in Basra blasts – official

BASRA / IraqiNews.com: Arab sides are involved in yesterday’s blasts in Basra, the head of the province’s security committee said on Tuesday. “We have confirmed intelligence information that one Arab state supported and another planned the blasts,” Ali Ghanim told IraqiNews.com news agency. He stressed that despite the Arab involvement, the blasts were carried out by Iraqi hands. Yesterday’s blasts in Basra left 30 people dead and 226 wounded. “Basra was targeted because it ranks ahead of other Iraqi cities in rebuilding and prosperity,” Ghanim noted. The oil-rich city of Basra lies 590 km south of Baghdad. MH (P)/SR 2
