Izidis demand Maliki to take out Kurd militias from Nineveh

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Izidi community demanded the Commanding General of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Nouri al-Maliki, to take the Kurd forces out of the Izidi areas within the Nineveh province and replace them with federal police and Iraqi Army.

Head of the Izidi Movement Bloc for Reform and Development, MP Amin Jejo, said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday “We demand to form a new brigade for the Federal Police to be limited on Izidi citizens in order to be tasked with protecting Izidi areas from repeated violations due to the failure of the Kurdish security forces (Asayish, Peshmerga and Baristan) in keeping security in these areas.”

He stressed “We hold the Kurd militias responsible for the repeated attacks that target the Izidi areas.”

“The Kurds try to force the Kurdish identity on the areas dominated by Izidi community under the pretext of Article 140 of the Constitution through bringing thousands of Kurdish security elements and members of Kurdish Parties into these territories to control it since 2003,” MP Jejo mentioned.
